SILVER LININGS, PLAYBOY
“Every experience, no matter how bad it seems, holds within it a blessing of some kind. The goal is to find it.”
…The goal is to find it, but the question is do you want to? It may seem odd not to want to find good in a bad situation, but it’s not uncommon to actually want to wallow in your feelings. It’s fine. Pout. Cry. Scream. It is only when you let these emotions trail that a problem is conceived.
The worst has happened…or so it seems. What do you do now? Take a day, or five, but then snap out of it. Be confident in your ability to overcome anything that weighs you down. Reflect. Is your situation really as bad as you think it is? Are you really incapable of adjusting? Are you seriously unable to push through it? Try. Try to work past whatever it is. You’re capable of much more than you give yourself credit for. Having bricks thrown at you? Use them to build. Maybe its the elephant in the room you’re afraid to address, or a needle in your haystack; there’s a lesson within every circumstance.
This is an ode to silver linings…because even when we’re waist deep in gloom, sure that the world is ending, they exist. They exist even in the blackest of clouds. And if you look closely, maybe those clouds aren’t black, but a really chic, dark shade of gray. I mean…there are 50 of them, right?
Crack a smile, and as always, do better to be better. It can always be worse.
