Current Faves: Spring 2014
I’ve decided that I need to stop talking to my reflection in the mirror and just share what products I’m so infatuated with each season. Here are Spring 2014’s most used and most obsessed over.
This product is the reason I even want to start doing these fave posts. When I say completely obsessed, I need you to believe me. (You guys know I’m a little dramatic.) I’ve tried many, MANY BB Creams in the past. This one stands alone. Not only does it offer SPF 42, but it’s packed with essential ingredients to help your skin as it perfects it. I’ve been using this product for a couple of months now and my skin has NEVER looked better. With ingredients like Rosemary and Chamomile extract, how could it not? Amazing. My only complaint is that it is only offered in 4 shades, the darkest being the shade that I use, Honey Beige. I know that the company is based in Korea, but they could take over the world if they offered shades for my warm-skinned ladies!
I never liked cream blushes until I used this one. It is the epitome of what a cream blush is supposed to be. It’s creamy, long-lasting, and pigmented enough to not make you look like a clown. This shade is great for that Kim Kardashian rosy-but-not-too-over-the-top look. The dewy glow it gives is absolutely delicious. I’ve been using it in the shade Natural all season, but now that summer is here, I’m switching it out for Orange - a beautiful bold stain.
As an owner of a Beauty Blender, I can truly say that this makeup sponge puts up a great fight. I’ve been using it to blend my concealer and BB cream lately and to be honest, I haven’t touched my Beauty Blender. (Sorry, baby. I’ll be back.) My only complaint and reason I’d go back to my Beauty Blender is that the sponge is a lot harder to clean. Other than that, it’s been great to my application and leaves me looking just as flawless for a lot less.
I’m not the girl that wears tons of makeup, but I am the girl that cannot do without mascara. My eyelashes are virtually invisible thanks to my brother getting the lash gene. Therefore I have a LOT of mascaras, from $50 tubes to this $7 tube of wonders. If you know about makeup, you know that Maybelline’s Great Lash Mascara tube is the equivalent of what Air Force Ones are to a rapper. You just KNOW what it is. It’s classic. They’ve released this tube with a fatter brush for fatter lashes and I haven’t put it down since. Its my everyday for thick, long lashes that aren’t too dramatic. Maybelline figured out how to teach an old dog a new trick.
I have to give it to Maybelline for keeping me both intrigued and obsessed. I’m not a lipgloss girl at all, but this one feels too good to resist. It literally feels delicious on your lips. (And it tastes/smells good too.) It’s SUPER silky without the usual stickiness. This nude shade is the most perfect I’ve come across, and looks like it would blend well on ladies of all skin tones. I’m going to take precaution of a discontinuation and I’m racking up with 5 more tubes. Talk about hoarding.
As if this isn’t one of the most talked about products to date, I’m going to add to the hype. If you know me, you know that I AM my eyebrows. (Literally. My face screams BROWS. EYES. LIPS.) I had been using Maybelline’s Define-A-Brow since I could remember until I decided to give in and splurge on the so-called god of brow pencils. I have a scar on my right eyebrow that forces me to fill my brow in where hair doesn’t grow anymore. This pencil is waxy enough to last all day, but creamy enough to glide on with ease. My hair is dark at the moment and I love bold brows, but I didn’t want to buy a color that was going to make my already thick brows look fake. This shade is just the right shade of brown. I don’t think I’m ever going back.
This isn’t a purchase I’d usually make, but it came in one of my Ipsy bags and I’ve been smitten ever since. I love oils, flowers and that clean and fresh feeling - this is all of that and more in a bottle. I’ve gotten so many compliments on the scent that it was only right that I order a full sized bottle. Its potent without it being overwhelming. Basically, I smell like an angel everyday thanks to this product. Did I mention it lasts all day? Yeah. A little oily blessing for my pulse points.
